Getting started

SpellQuest turns your state's grade-level standards into a fun, personalized spelling practice.

• •Create a free account, then add a child profile (first name, birthday, grade, and a 4-digit PIN).
• •Each speller gets their own profile card on the Start screen — tap it to begin.
• •Words are pulled from your state's standards for the child's grade, so practice matches what's taught in class.
• •Everything syncs across devices once you're logged in.

Starting & finishing sessions

A session is 10 words. Each word is worked twice — hear it, see the definition and a sentence, then type it.

• •Tap a profile, enter the child's PIN, and a session of 10 words begins.
• •Each word is worked twice: the app reads it aloud, shows a definition and a sentence with the word blanked out, and the child types it into letter boxes.
• •Type each word correctly twice in a row to complete it.
• •After 5 wrong attempts on a word, 'Start Over' lets the child retry that word from scratch (once per word).
• •Finish all 10 words to see a summary with confetti and earned points.

How words are chosen

Selection balances fresh words, trouble words, and any custom words you add.

• •Words come from your state's standards for the child's grade.
• •Trouble words (5+ attempts) are prioritized in future sessions until mastered.
• •Up to 10 custom words can be added per child — these are mixed into sessions.
• •Recently used words are avoided so sessions feel fresh.

Scoring & rewards

Points, streaks, and badges keep kids motivated.

• •Each completed word earns points; finishing a session gives a bonus.
• •Lifetime points and mastered-word counts carry over across sessions.
• •Streaks build for words completed on the first try.
• •Badges unlock for milestones like '10 words mastered' and consistent streaks.

Editing a profile

• •Open the dashboard (protected by your dashboard PIN) to manage spellers.
• •Change a child's grade, difficulty, or custom words anytime.
• •Reset a child's PIN or progress from their profile page.
• •Profiles are removed from the dashboard.

Account & dashboard

• •Your dashboard PIN protects the management area from children.
• •Set or change the PIN from the dashboard.
• •Log out from the dashboard; your data stays safely on your account.
• •Contact support or delete your account from the dashboard.
